Education

2001–2008: Ph. D. in pure mathematics from The Institute of Mathematical Sciences, Chennai
Thesis Title: Some explicit minimal graded free resolutions

 

1999-2001: M. Sc. (Mathematics): 2 years Program at Department of Mathematics, I.I.T.- Bombay, Mumbai.
1996-1999: B. Sc. (Mathematics): 3 years Program at S.P. College, Pune University.

Designation

From October 2009- till October 2012, I was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow (Visiting Fellow) at Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE).

Activities at HBCSE

During my stay I have attended a few teacher training workshops, math-lab activity sessions and workshops to initiate teachers in the software, Geogebra. I have also been involved in teaching activities in HBCSE.

Areas of Interest:

Teaching algebra and studying how students learn algebra interests me. I am interested in studying the strategies students use to solve problems.  I am interested in developing an efficient and effective way to use Geogebra for teaching mathematics at high school and college level.
