Cognitive Development


Days and Time: Tuesdays and Fridays; 11.00-1.00

 

Outline of the course:

This course will introduce students to cognitive development. It will introduce students to leading theories and experimental findings. The theories / approaches (un)covered will include Piagetian and post-Piagetian theory, Social cognition theories and Information processing approach.

Course Plan

1. Chapters 1 to 4 (Piaget and post-Piaget) From FMM (Weeks of Jan 19 to Feb 16)-KS

2. Chapter 5 and 7 from FMM & Chap 4 & 8 from Miller (Weeks of Feb 23 to Mar 30)-JR

3. Chapters 2, 3, 5, 6 & 7 from Miller & Chap 6 from FMM (Weeks of April 1 to April 27)-SC

 

Assessment: Assessment will be on the basis of assignments, discussions during lectures and term papers.
