Introduction to Cognitive Science Antecedents


Outline of the course:

 

This course traced the emergence of cognitive science as a confluence of six disciplines namely, philosophy, artificial intelligence, psychology, neuroscience, linguistics and anthropology. Developments in these disciplines prior to and post the mid 20th century were overviewed to put into perspective the "cognitive revolution." The course consisted of lectures, assignments, tutorials and student seminars. Notes from the course were compiled and distributed to students.
