Language and Science
Outline of the course:
This reading course was based on Clive Sutton's book titled “Words, Science and Learning” (OUP, 1992). The course explored the role of language in the growth of science and in the growth of learner's ideas and classroom practice. The centrality of language in scientific thinking and the uses of metaphorical language in science were the foci of this course
