The Ninth
V. G. Kulkarni Memorial Lecture
Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education instituted in 2002 an annual memorial lecture in honour of the late Shri. V. G. Kulkarni, Founder Director of the Centre.
The Ninth V. G. Kulkarni Memorial Lecture will be delivered by Dr. Anil Kakodkar, distinguished Nuclear Scientist and former Chair, Atomic Energy Commission and at present DAE Homi Bhabha Chair Professor at the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre. Dr. Kakodkar has been honoured with many awards including Padma Sri in 1998, Padma Bhushan in 1999 and Padma Vibhushan in 2009.

Taking the VG Mission Forward
Prof. V. G. Kulkarni not only gave shape to science education activities at the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education, he also pioneered a science education mission. Today the importance of such a mission is being increasingly felt in the country. The ability to innovate and come up with new products and new knowledge, will come from getting children interested in science, and helping them develop an understanding of things in the world. The talk will focus on this and other elements that will make India a strong knowledge and innovation society.
